Sainsbury's Fat Free

Do not, just don't.

My general opinion and experience of sainsburys is that it is high price and average quality, so I wasn't expecting anything special from a sainsburys cottage cheese. I feel more than vindicated in this assertion. Though there are a number of Sainsbury's near me, my family has always prefered aldi, lidl, asda, and tesco. It was, however, my brothers birthday. So we set out to sainsbury's, seeking the holy grail of all cereal. Oaty parcels (apparently it's actually called Quaker Oat Crisp but whatever). I could do a whole review on that itsslef. But anywaywe were in Sainsbury's, which gave me the perfect opportunity to get some cottage cheese. It was £1.40 for the tub, which I felt was a little steep. £1.40 was what I paid for each of my Waitrose ones, which I rated very highly, so it would be a tall order for this one to make itsself value for money. As with Grahams family dairy, the most perplexing thing about this was the texture, though for completely different reasons. Where Graham's had very hard lumps, Sainsbury's was quite mushy. It almost felt blended. This felt more like quark (more on that in a few months). One of the best things about cottage cheese is the texture, take that away and the taste really has to do sometinhg special. Now my opinion on this has flip flopped from one extreme to another. I intially tried this CC back in June, however I am writing this in september. As much time had elapsed since I frist tried it I couldn't really remember it or what I said so I decided to buy some more and give it another go.

Now maybe my taste buds have changed or they were just having an off day when I filmed this review because I gave it an 8. Let me make clear this is not an 8. in fact I wish I never 8 it. (though obviously it's good for completeness sake). Even taking into account my previous high rating system I can't agree with an 8. The taste was not nice and I had to force my way through the tub, a real chore. It was rich but not in a good way. Tesco had a bad aftertaste, this just had a bad taste. The only redeeming feature was the nutrition. It has 74kcal and 10.7g of protein per 100g. But that is standard- really just buy any other cottage cheese. In the biggest rating drop from video to blog that we have seen so far, I am giving this a 3/10.
